Deleting DaaS Desktops, Pools and Gold Patterns

Desktops, pools and gold patterns are linked within the DaaS platform. Use caution when deleting these items.

Delete Static Desktops

Locate ‘Pool Management’ and click on ‘Browse Pools’. Click the name of the pool where your static desktops are located. Locate the ‘Virtual Machines’ tab on the left side. Select the desktops you wish to delete and use the drop down menu to move them to the ‘Recycle Pool’.

Browse Pools

Click ‘OK’ to the warning about mappings and confirmation. This will NOT delete the desktop. It simply will move it to the recycled pool. Return to the ‘Browse Pool’s page.

Click on the ‘Recycle Pool’ and select your desktops. From the ‘operations’ button, power off the desktops. With all desktops powered off you can now ‘Empty’ the ‘Recycle Pool’. This process may take several minutes to complete. The additional quota space will not be available until this process has completed.

Delete Dynamic Desktops

To delete dynamic desktops, locate your pool under ‘Pool Management’ and click the ‘Edit’ button. Reduce the pool size by the desired amount and click ‘Save’. This process can take several minutes to complete. The additional quota space will not be available until this process has completed.

Delete a Pool

To delete a pool, you must first delete all desktops from that pool. Once all desktops are deleted from the pool, locate the pool under ‘Pool Management’. You will now see a ‘Delete’ button next to the ‘Edit’ button. Click ‘Delete’ then click ‘OK’ to confirm.

Delete a Gold Pattern

To delete a gold pattern, you must first delete all desktops and pools that are associated with the gold pattern. Once all pools and desktops are deleted, locate the pattern under ‘Pool Management>Patterns’. Select the gold pattern and click the link to ‘Convert to Desktop’.

Gold Pattern

Next locate the pattern under ‘Reserved Desktops’ and click the ‘Delete Desktop’ link. Click ‘OK’ to confirm.
