Before attempting a OneDrive restore from O365 BaaS, please ensure that there is a local server with Green Cloud added as a Service Provider, and the Veeam Explorer for OneDrive installed. See the O365 BaaS Restore Server Setup for more details.
Open Backup in Veeam Explorer for OneDrive
Open Veeam Explorer for OneDrive (installed with the same package as Veeam Explorer for SharePoint). Select “Add Store” in the upper left-hand corner, then select “Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 Service Provider…”.
In the dialog box that opens, select the Service Provider instance that you set up during the O365 BaaS Restore Server Setup process, and the authentication method relevant to your O365 instance (Basic or Modern). For Basic, enter the username and password for the backup service account that was sent to Green Cloud when the service was ordered.
For Modern, select your Region and sign in using the provided authentication code.
After entering the authentication information, specify a point in time (if necessary) and click “Connect”.
Locate Missing Documents
Once you have connected to the Organization, use the Organization browser window to explore the files and folders of all backed up user accounts.
Restore Documents
After locating the relevant files, you can select them and use the buttons at the top of the screen, or right-click to begin the restore process.
- “Restore document” will restore the document directly into its original location in O365, either Overwriting the present file or Keeping and renaming the restored version
- “Copy document” will restore the document to a different user account or folder
- “Save document” will restore the document locally to the Restore server
- “Send document” will send the document as an attachment in an email from the Backup Service Account
